No Iran oil imports since 2012

Sri Lanka does not import crude oil from Iran since mid 2012 following the US sanctions, Minister of Petroleum industries, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said at the cabinet press briefing short while ago.

United States imposed an embargo on the import of oil from Iran In June 2011.  An year later Sri Lanka imported 20% of the requirement of crude oil from Iran during the first six months of the year and 10% during the second six months.
