​No-faith motion on Ravi on July 6

The Opposition had agreed to take the no-confidence motion against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake for debate on July 6, Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody said.

He said the Opposition wanted to hold the debate on an early date but the Government had opted for July 6 instead.

“Earlier, it was decided to debate the motion on July 4, but the Government wanted to hold the debate on July 6, to which the Opposition agreed. The no-faith motion will be taken up for debate at 9.00 a.m. and the voting will start at 6.30 p.m.,” he said. (LSP)
