The National Freedom Front (NFF) today urged the government to set up a special prison to imprison white-collar criminals convicted of looting and abusing public resources.

NFF national organiser Jayantha Samaraweera said despite the Government claiming it would punish all fraudsters and looters, some well-known fraudsters were still at large.

He said new laws must be introduced if the prevailing laws were not sufficient to punish those who had robbed this country.

“We urge the government to introduce a new Bill in parliament and take action against those found guilty of fraud and corruption since 1977,” Mr. Samaraweera said .(Ajith Siriwardana and Piyumi Fonseka)
