Indian Prime ministerial BJP candidate Narendra Modi accused the Congress Government of being weak when it came to handle relations with India’s neighbors and said India was being troubled by Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

“Small nations are pressuring India and no one is listening to us. It is the weak government which is responsible for this state of affairs. We belong to a noble country but unfortunately India is being troubled by Sri Lanka, China,Bangladesh and Pakistan. If India is strong then our neighbours will also be friendly towards us,” the foreign media reported Mr. Modi as having said at a mega rally in Chennai yesterday.

Referring to the crucial issue of Tamil Nadu fishermen Mr. Modi told the rally that these fishermen were facing a major problem.

He said Indian fishermen were detained in Sri Lankan jails.“If the Government had even a little concern for the poor then the condition of the fishing community in Tamil Nadu would be different,” Mr. Modi said.
