Navy fills vacant CoS post after nearly two years

The post of Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy was filled yesterday after being vacant for 21 months, with the appointment of Rear Admiral Damayantha Dharamasiriwardane, informed sources said.

Navy Commander Jayanath Colambage had made the appointment of Rear Admiral Dharmasiriwardane who was previously the Director General (Services) of the Sri Lanka Navy.

The post of Chief of Staff of the navy fell vacant after the appointment of retired Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake as the Navy Commander on January 15, 2011
