Nawinne crosses over

The Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) S. B. Nawinne had crossed over to the United National Party (UNP), the UNP said today.

UNP Assistant General Secretary and Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said Minister S.B. Nawinne would contest the General Elections from the UNP.

“We will also appoint him as UNP Organiser for Wariyapola in an event to be held tomorrow morning in Kurunegala,” Kariyawasam said.

S. B. Nawinne was appointed as the Labour and Labour Relations Minister by President Maithripala Sirisena in March. (Lahiru Pothmulla)
