Popular actress Nadeesha Hemamali who has made a name for herself as a talented artiste and tele drama producer, will vie for a slot in the Southern Provincial Council at the forthcoming polls on the UNP ticket.

She handed over her application to UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake this afternoon and it was accepted by the party.

Having made her debut in Katu Kurullo more than a decade ago, Nadeesha who has also bagged the most popular tele actress Sumathi award, shot to fame with several popular tele hits and films like Tharuka Mal and Julia. She also produced the much acclaimed tele serial ‘Ethkanda Lihini’.

She recently took her first step in Tollywood (Telugu Cinema) playing a pivotal role in the movie Mr. Rascal.
