MR offers Pakistan help

President Mahinda Rajapaksa telephoned Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani today and offered to send a team of doctors along with medicines to support relief efforts for flood victims in the country.

President Rajapaksa also conveyed condolences and commiserations of his Government on the loss of precious lives and properties in the recent floods in Pakistan, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa expressed the solidarity of the Sri Lankan Government and people with the people and Government of Pakistan. Expressing his sympathy with the flood victims, he offered to help control any possible outbreak of epidemics among the flood victims. 

He also offered to send tea for the flood victims. The Pakistan Prime Minister thanked the President and people of Sri Lanka for their kind sentiments of assistance and the gracious gesture, the Associated Press of Pakistan said. (Daily Mirror online)
