MPs suspended

The UNP has suspended the membership of the six UNP parliamentarians who supported the 18th amendment and later crossed over to the government benches in parliament today.

Senior UNP member Joseph Michael Perera said that the UNP working committee will conduct a disciplinary inquiry over the six UNP members who crossed over to the government today before deciding on the future of their membership which is likely to be canceled.
 

The UNP MPs include Upeksha Swarnamali, Earl Gunasekara, Abdul Cader, N. Wijesingha, Lakshman Seneviratne and Manusha Nanayakkara.(Daily Mirror online)
