The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will introduce 92 Octane petrol to the market in January and 98 Octane diesel in April, Petroleum Minister Susil Premajayantha said today.

“This would be done through several stages. At first, the CPC will introduce 92 Octane petrol to the market next month,” he said.

The present sulfur percentage in diesel is 2,500 Particles per Million (PpM) and the measures to be taken by the CPC will reduce it to 500 PpM.

The minister also pointed out that the new pipelines being laid at Sapugaskanda and Kollonnawa refineries would minimise current leakage issues. (Chaturanga Pradeep-DM Online)
