More bank robberies by face-covered motocyclists

A private bank in Moratuwa was reported to have been robbed of Rs.700,000 by two people who arrived on a motorcycle wearing face-covered helmets, police said.

Meanwhile another bank robbery at Kirulapone was foiled when an alert security guard fired at the robbers who are also alleged to have fired back. Police said the security guard was injured from shattered glass pieces falling on him.

Police said the two robberies had occurred about the same time.
