The office used by former Deputy Highways Minister Mervyn Silva has been padlocked and police deployed around it. The police has also been told not to allow anyone enter the office, police sources told Daily Mirror online.
According to police sources the office was closed as Mervyn Silva was removed from his post by President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday and does not have any authority to enter his former office located along Dharmapala mawatha.
Police sources said that officers placed on duty outside the former Deputy Minister’s office have been instructed not to allow anyone enter the premises until further notice.
When contacted by Daily Mirror online police spokesman Prishantha Jayakody said that all he know is that the police had been deployed outside the former Deputy Minister’s office but was not aware of an order preventing anyone from entering the premises. (Daily Mirror online)
