Meethotamulla tense

A tense situation prevailed in Meethotamulla this afternoon when the residents of the area staged a protest against the dumping of garbage in area.

 They obstructed the Awissawella- Colombo road despite police warnnings.

This compelled the police to use water canon to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control.
