Medicinal drugs bill passed

The National Medicinal Drugs Regulatory Authority Bill which provides for the implementation of a medicinal drugs policy was today passed in Parliament with amendments.
 

Sixty eight members voted in favour while Front Line Socialist Party member Anura Kumara voted against.
 
 

The bill was debated on Wednesday. After its second reading debate, it was deferred till today for the MPs to bring amendments to be incorporated during the committee stage. (Kelum Bandara and Yohan Perera)
