Mangala’s residence break-in: suspect remanded

Panadura-North Police today arrested the man who is suspected of having broken into UNP parliamentarian Mangala Samaraweera’s residence at Galkanuwa in Keselwatta, Panadura on Monday night.

Police recovered several bottles of foreign liquor and a laptop that the suspect was alleged to have taken away. Police said the suspect is a resident of Payagala and a frequent visitor to Mr. Samaraweera’s residence.  He will be produced before the Panadura Magistrate this morning.

The suspect was produced before the Panadura Magistrate Ruchira Weliwathta and was remanded till January 8. (Siri Mahabellana and Kusal Chamath)
