Lorries with identical number plates

Two lorries with identical number plates were taken into custody by the Special Crime Investigation Unit of the Kurunegala police from Kurunegala and Kandy, the police said.

The registrations details of the authentic vehicle is suspected to have been used to create and register the second lorry with identical number plates. 

Owners of the vehicles are reportedly abroad and allegedly have the relevant registered documents for the vehicles to prove their authenticity. (Pushpakumara Jayarathna)
