Loose fire extinguisher kills hospital employee

An employee of a private hospital in Narahenpita, who was being treated after being hit by a fire extinguisher which had broken loose died last night from the injuries she suffered, police said.


Two other employees were also injured when they were checking out the hospital’s fire extinguishers. “They were checking the fire extinguishers when one of them had come loose from its moorings and hit the employees,” Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana said.

He said the victims were admitted to the private hospital they were employed at and one woman had died yesterday.
