The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday ordered authorities to end the house arrest of Malik Ishaq, allegedly involved in the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.

According to a private television channel, Malik Ishaq appeared before a review board of the high court after his house arrest was withdrawn.

The Punjab government had requested the court to grant a one-month extension in Ishaq’s house arrest. Prosecutors argued that the record of Malik Ishaq’s speech and other material could disturb law and order. However, the review board refused to end his house arrest and ordered his release.
