The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) is to file legal action against 30 bakeries operating in Colombo and Gampaha for selling a loaf of bread below the standard weight of 450g, CAA Chairman Rumy Marzook told Daily Mirror online.

Marzook said that raids were carried out on these bakeries today and legal action will be imitated next week after it was found that they were selling bread below the standard weight. He added that similar raids will be carried out over the next few days.

The CAA Chairman also warned that strict action will be taken against stores which fail to display the price of products on sale. (Daily Mirror online)
