Sajith Premadasa left the protest a short while ago to attend the working committee meeting to be held the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha. He urged the people gathered not to leave as he will be back after the meeting with Karu Jayasuriya.

Around 2000 to 2500 people have gathered at the Viharamaha Devi Park. MP’s Sajith Premadasa, Dayasiri Jayasekera, Rosie Senanayake and Sujeewa Senasinghe along with a number of parliamentarians have gathered at the meeting.

A bag containing wasps was found at the site and Dayasiri Jayasekera stated that it was planted among the gathering by Gemunu Wijeratne, Chairman, Private Bus Owners Association.

In his speech, Sajith Premadasa made a significant statement, “I’ve not said this before but I am saying this now, that the Leadership of the UNP and the government have a deal going on.” (F.M)
