A group of Sri Lankans who were promised jobs in Afghanistan have been stranded in India by their agent, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau said. The group of 11 Sri Lankans are now being attended to by the Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi.

Meanwhile the agent who had sent the Sri Lankans to India is absconding. The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau urged job seekers to be mindful of agents they register with to be sent overseas.  (ISA)
