Lankan troops in Haiti safe

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakara, speaking to Daily Mirror online a short while ago, said that all 950 Sri Lankan peacekeepers in Haiti, where there was a massive earthquake, are safe and that contact was established with them.


CNN quoted UN officials as saying a short while ago that the UN peacekeeping building in Haiti had collapsed and there were reports of casualties among UN staff following the 7.0 quake.
