A 19-year-old Sri Lankan student has been hospitalised after she was raped and robbed by a man while walking back to her rented house in Malaysia.

The psychology student from Nottingham University was alone when the man approached her and hit her on her head using a sharp object, causing her to lose consciousness.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Shakaruddin Che Mod said the man dragged her into an empty house in the area before raping and robbing her.

The girl was shocked to find the man on top of her when she regained consciousness.

“When she became conscious, the man fled,” he said.

Police have yet to record any statements as the woman was not in the right frame of mind to talk.

ACP Shakaruddin said no arrests had been made so far. (The Star)
