Lankan nabbed in Bulgaria

A citizen of Sri Lanka, who was hidden inside a mini-bus with German registration, was arrested while trying to illegally leave the territory of Bulgaria, the press office of the Bulgarian Interior Ministry announced.

At around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, while leaving the territory of the country through the Vidin-Danube Bridge 2 border checkpoint, authorities checked a mini-bus with German registration, driven by a 45-year-old German man. The border police officers inspected the vehicle and found a hidden compartment under vehicle’s floor, where a 20-year-old citizen of Sri Lanka was hiding.

The driver and the woman were put under arrest. (Focus News Agency)
