Lankan domestic worker kills employer

BEIRUT: A Sri Lankan housemaid stabbed to death her employer at the latter's house near Beirut airport on Thursday, security sources said.

They said the woman, identified by her first name Habiba, smashed a vase over her employer’s head before stabbing her several times.

Nehmat Munzir, 67, died of severe bleeding at her house in Burj Barajneh, added the sources, who spoke to The Daily Star on condition of anonymity.

Police arrested Habiba, who confessed to committing the crime. (Source: The Daily Star)
