Lanka for talks with Diaspora

The Sri Lankan government has sought talks with the Tamil Diaspora as well as the International media in order to change their mindset about the LTTE and post war Sri Lanka, a top government Minister said.

Government Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, speaking to Daily Mirror online, said that the Tamil Diaspora have been misled by the LTTE and continue to carry out the propaganda of the Tigers.

He also said that some international media organizations give publicity to LTTE propaganda and in doing so tend to paint the wrong picture of the actual post war situation in Sri Lanka.

The Minister said that in order to give the proper picture the Sri Lankan government is keen to have talks with representatives of the Tamil Diaspora as well as international news agencies and media organizations. (Daily Mirror online)
