The body of the Saudi diplomat who was found dead inside a swimming pool in an apartment complex in Colombo on Sunday will be flown to Jeddah on Tuesday.

Thirty-two-year-old Hussein Al-Heej was a diplomat who had been serving at the Saudi mission in Colombo for the past two and a half years.

Al-Heej, who was working as an accountant at the Colombo mission, is survived by two children, Faisal, 4, and Aina, 6 months, and his wife. His eldest son, Faisal, was playing with him near the poolside at the time of his death.

Abdulaziz Abdul Rahman Al-Jammaz, Saudi ambassador to Sri Lanka, has called for a full-scale investigation into Al-Heej's death.
