Kotakethana killing: suspects released on AG's advice

Godakawela Pradeshiya Sabha member L.H. Dharmasiri and Sanath Nandana alias Chutimalli  the third and fourth suspects in the killing of a mother and daughter at Kotakethana were yesterday released by the Pelmadulla Magistrate Chandani  Niranjala  Dias on the instructions of the Attorney General.

Four suspects were arrested in connection with the killing of Nayana Nilmini (51) and her daughter Kavinda Chathurangi Sellahewa (18) on January 31 last year at Kotakethana in Kahawatta.

They are PS member L.H. Dharmasiri his brother L.H. Dharsana alias Raju, his wife Asoka Chandani  Kumari  alias  ‘Batti’  and  trishaw driver Sanath Nandana.

The evidence collected from the site of the killing and analytical evidence relating to the killing had been sent to the Attorney General for further action. (Lasantha Niroshana Perera)
