Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who postponed his planned visit to Sri Lanka last week, has re-scheduled his visit and will be here on March 5, the External Affairs Ministry said today.

“The Afghanistani President will arrive on March 5 and leave on March 7,” a spokesman for the External Affairs Ministry told Daily Mirror online.

Earlier President Karzai scheduled his visit to Sri Lanka from February 23 to 25, but it was postponed due to an unforeseen security situation that had arisen in the Kunar province in Afghanistan, where 19 Afghan soldiers were killed in an assault by Taliban militants.
