JVP vows to abolish PC system and restore rights of all people

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) leader Somawansa Amarasinghe said his party would abolish the provincial council system under a JVP government and that it would restore the rights of all communities.

He said that it was high time to end the debate on the 13th Amendment and hold talks on Sri Lanka’s economy, social condition and culture.
The JVP today launched a book on methods of resolving the national question.

Mr. Amarasinghe said the authorities weren’t giving enough prominence to the national question.

He said President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his government had failed miserably to find a political solution to the national question though they had ample time to resolve the matter.

This was why the JVP had launched a book on how to resolve the national question and asked everyone to read the book.

Mr. Amarasinghe, MPs VijithaHerath, Sunil Hadunnetti other party members and supporters of the JVP were present at the book launch. (Lahiru Pothmulla and Jehan Gunasekara)
