Jeena madam charged for possessing leopard skin

The Fort Divisional Vice Squad today filed a case against Rosemary Felicia Perera alias Jeena, the main suspect who had allegedly managed a brothel at a leading shopping mall in Colombo, for allegedly possessing a leopard skin without a valid permit.

When the case against Rosemary Felicia Perera came up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratne, the investigative officer who carried out the raid told court that he was able to confiscate a leopard skin from the accused.

Giving evidence Sub Inspector Janak de Silva told the court that when he raided the brothel on September 23, 2009 he recovered a leopard skin from the possession of the accused when she was in the eighth floor of the building.
  
During the raid 14 suspects including Rosemary Felicia Perera were arrested by the Fort Divisional Vice Squad for allegedly providing women for prostitution. Further Magisterial inquiry into the matter was postponed for March 2 next year. (By Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
