DNA member Jayantha Ketagoda's name is to be gazetted today as the replacement for the parliament seat made vacant after DNA leader Sarath Fonseka’s imprisonment, Additional Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said.

Earlier the name of Lakshman Nipunarachchi was put forward as the replacement for Sarath Fonseka but he declined to take oaths as he believed the seat rightfully belonged to DNA leader Sarath Fonseka. Jayantha Ketagoda has also made it clear that he will not accept the appointment as the seat belongs to the former army chief. (Daily Mirror online)
