It’s blowing cold

Dry and cold winds blowing from India had pushed the temperature lower in Sri Lanka, Department of Meteorology said yesterday.

A spokesman from the Department of Meteorology told Daily Mirror that the cold wind blowing from India was one reason for low temperature as the reduction of clouds was another.

The lowest temperature pf 7.9 degree was reported from Nuwara Eliya District, while the temperature in Colombo was 26 degrees, Jaffna Anuradhapura, Trincomalee and Batticaloa also recorded a temperature of 26 degrees.

Meanwhile, temperature in many parts of India had also fell according Met. Department of India. The official Website of the Indian Department of Meteorology reported that the minimum temperature in New Delhi was 7 degrees while the temperature in Tamil Nadu was 21 degrees.(Yohan Perera and Sajeewa Wijeweera)
