Former Indian captain and Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid has said that the issue about the participation of Sri Lankan players in Chennai is unfortunate.

In an interview Times of India, Dravid said that the Indian Government and the BCCI are looking into the matter and they will handle the issue in the best possible way.

Excerpts from an interview on Sri Lanka.

How do you react to the issue over Lankan cricketer's participation in Chennai matches?
It is quite unfortunate. You can't do much when such things happen. I am sure the BCCI and the government are looking into it and they will handle it in the best possible way. There are a few teams which have some good Sri Lankan players and they might have to change their strategies for the games in Chennai. Fortunately, we Royals have just one Sri Lanka in Kushal Perera and we do have replacements for him, in case we need to take such a call.

But, don't you think some teams might be at a disadvantage?
All teams have to adhere by this rule and it is the same situation for everyone in the IPL. Some teams have Sri Lankans as captains and as I said, they might just have to change their strategies a little bit.
