An arrest warrant has been issued by the international police also known as INTERPOL for Kanthalingam Premaragi, the head of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) which was known to be an aid group funding the LTTE, State TV reported.

State TV claimed that investigations had revealed Premaragi had obtained funds from various businessmen while the TRO was operating in Colombo before it was listed as a banned organization.

A list found in Batticaloa by the security forces, contained the names of businessmen who provided the funds, State TV further added.

The INTERPOL website lists Kanthalingam  Premaragi as being wanted for terrorism related offences and refers to an arrest warrant issued by the Colombo High Court. Premaragi is on the red list meaning he would be extradited to Sri Lanka if arrested overseas. (Daily Mirror online)
