Audio: Inquiry should be against Rajapaksa regime: Dayasiri

29 August 2012 02:01 pm

UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara who faced a disciplinary inquiry at the UNP headquarters Sirikotha today said he shouldn’t be the one asked to face such inquiries.

“The disciplinary inquiry should be held against the Rajapaksa regime and not me. I don’t understand why they are doing this. They have crippled my election campaign programme,” he said.

Mr. Jayasekara was asked to appear before a two-member disciplinary committee headed by Attorney Yasantha Perera for making statements detrimental to the party.

“We lodged three protests on the charge sheet given to me and the decision is to be announced on October 2. Nothing can deter me and I am ready to face a thousand inquiries,” he said. (Hafeel Farisz)
