Indictment delayed

The indictment of former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka and his aide Senaka Silva in the High Court has been delayed. The State Counsel informed the High Court today that the indictment will be served on 28 September.

The indictment was to be served this week but the State Counsel told the High Court today that the indictment will be delayed till 28 September as Fonseka is attending a case at the Supreme Court.

Fonseka and Senaka Silva are to be indicted on the charges of harboring army deserters and attempting to incite the army to work against the government. (TFT)
