Indicted for aiding to kill Jeyaraj

The Attorney General indicted before the Colombo High Court an accused who had facilitated the LTTE movement to carry out their terrorist acts by providing accommodation and aiding and abetting  the LTTE to kill Former Minister of Highways Jeyaraj Fernandopulle.

When the matter was taken up for inquiry before High Court Judge  Ms. Depali Wijesundera  today Counsel A. M. Thillayanathan appearing with Dusith Johndasan   for the accused submitted that the  accused  Shanmugarajah Suresh Kumar alias Kutti is being remanded in the Mahara Prisons and was not brought to court to face the charges by the prison authorities.

Consequently the Judge issued notice to the Mahara Prisons Superintendent to produce the accused in court on October 19 to serve the indictment.

The accused was indicted by the Attorney General for assisting the LTTE movement by facilitating to find accommodation to a suicide LTTE cadre named Muttiah Narendran alias Vella Thambi Mohamed  at  Kawdana, Dehiwala during March 10 to April 05, 2005.

He was also indicted for aiding and abetting the LTTE to kill Highways  Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle. (T. Farook Thajudeen)
