The Indian High Commission today refused to accept the body of an Indian national who had been killed and dumped on the beach in Mundalama on Sunday allegedly by a senior CID officer and a businessman from Wellawatta.

A representative of the Indian High Commission who was present at the JMO inquest refused to accept the body stating that the High Commission did not have facilities to preserve the body until the victim’s relations arrived.

It is alleged that the CID officer and the Colombo businessman had taken the Indian national’s body to Mundalama in a double cab and left it on the beach.

Investigations into the death are continuing. (Daily Mirror online)
