A triple murder was reported from the Nelumkulama area of Anuradapura late last night when a man had killed his wife and two others present at the time, seriously injuring one other.
According to reports the man had struck all three; that is his wife, her mother and the mother’s sister, with an iron pole on the head, resulting in the deaths.
One other person that had been present in the house at the time had been seriously injured in the incident and was taken to the Anuradapura hospital for further treatment.
The suspect was apprehended following the murders and taken into police custody.
