HSTUA says not aware of court order

The Health Services Trade Union Alliance (HSTUA) today said that it was not aware of the restraining order against the strike and said it would continue the strike till tomorrow as planned.

“We respect the court and its decisions but we are not informed about the restraining order, therefore we will continue our strike till tomorrow morning as planned,” HSTUA Chairman Saman Ratnapriya said.

He said that the HSTUA would decide on further action had the authorities failed to answer to their demands.

“We are not conducting this strike willingly. We feel sorry for the patients.  We are trying to settle issues regarding to our allowances with authorities,” he said.
