The Meteorology Department said the rainy weather would continue over the South-Western parts of the country and showers or thundershowers could be expected in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-Western and Southern provinces due to the atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.

It said thundershowers could develop at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or night while heavy rainfall exceeding 100mm was likely at some places.

Meanwhile, Disaster Management Centre (DMC) issued a landslide warning valid for next 24 hours in Kalutara, Gall, Matara and Kegalle districts. (Ajith Siriwardana)
