Hashan requests protection

Hashan Tillekaratne will reveal the names regarding the match fixing scandal if the necessary protection is given to his family, Mrs. Apsari Tillekaratne, the wife of the former Sri Lankan Test Cricket captain told Daily Mirror online

Mrs. Tillekaratne added that they had received several death threats and that their lives would be in danger if the names were disclosed. Therefore if their safety was guaranteed he would reveal the names, she said

Former Sri Lankan Test Captain Hashan Tillekaratne made a second statement today with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) regarding his  allegations of match fixing scandals since 1992 that he exposed to the media earlier this month.

The CID has asked Mr. Tillekaratne to come and make another statement today as they had to deal with a few clarifications over his first statement that he made on Tuesday.

He was asked to come to the CID office today and make a statement over the match fixing allegations, the CID said. (Daily Mirror online)
