‘Govt. won’t sell Colombo lands’

Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga has said that there is no necessity for the government to sell lands in the Colombo city to foreigners as claimed by some groups who oppose the government.

In an interview with state owned SLBC, Mr. Weeratunga said the development of the Colombo city was on a high standard among the main cities in the Asian region. He also said the Colombo city had achieved great progress in security, cleanliness as well as in beautification.

This programme is being implemented by the Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse under the guidance of the President, he said.
