Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, former MP Duminda Silva and two others have been questioned by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources, and Privileges (PRECIFAC) for more than three hours this morning.

They have been asked to appear at the PRECIFAC tomorrow as well.

Commission Secretary Lacille De Silva said statements were recorded from Chief Executive Office of the Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Ltd. Major General (Rtd) K.B. Egodawela and its Chairman Major General Palitha Fernando as well.

He said they were summoned to the PRECIFAC over a complaint regarding the deployment of Rakna Lanka staff for election campaign during the last Presidential Election in January.

He said Sri Jayawardenepura-Kotte Mayor Janaka Ranawaka and Western Provincial Council Minister Upali Kodikara did not appear at the Commission despite being asked to do so. (Ajith Siriwardana)
