Video: Go eat Kochchi, Nandimitra tells UNP

Deputy Minister of Higher Education Nandimitra Ekanayake told the media today that the Opposition must eat pungent Kochchi chilies to overcome the sorrow of their debacle at the Uva Provincial elections.

“The politicians of the Opposition ate chilies to gain cheap political mileage.  However, the UNP led opposition has nowhere to turn to.  I challenged them to eat Kochchi chillies if possible.

“The defeated have no alternative but to eat Kochchi chillies. The elephant symbol and the faces of the UNP have changed. I invite them to join hands with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and serve the people. I don’t criticise the UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, but he has been defeated continually.

“However, the country is on the path to progress under the visionary leadership of the President. There is not one on earth to defeat the President at any future election,” he said. (Mahesh Keerthirathne)
