No country has declined to participate at the Commonwealth Heads of Governance Meeting (CHOGM) in November in Sri Lanka, External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris said today.

“Not even one country has said that they will not participate at the summit,” he said.

At a news briefing the Minister said that holding the summit would be an opportunity to boost the economy of the country and said it would be a great investment.

He also said that the government was eagerly inviting all the parties and communities to come and witness the situation in the country.

Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella speaking at the briefing said that all international media were welcome to cover the summit.

Responding to a question whether the Director of the controversial Channel 4 film, Callum Macrae could enter the country, Minister Rambukwella said that anyone who followed the Commonwealth guidelines for media accreditation could enter the country. (Video and news by Lahiru Pothmulla)
