Fonseka to attend parliament

Detained General Sarath Fonseka will attend parliament on April 22 and deliver his maiden speech, the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) claimed today.

DNA General Secretary Vijitha Herath, countering the argument raised by some UPFA seniors that General Fonseka cannot become an MP as he has been court martialed, claimed the General could attend Parliament as the law prevents one from coming to the House only if he is facing a case filed in civil courts as per section 84 of the Constitution.
