Gas tax goes up

The Finance Ministry has decided to increase the import tax on gas by Rs. 5 from today. The decision has been communicated to the Customs Authority, the Tariff Facilitation and Appraisement department of the Customs Authority told Daily Mirror online.

As a result of the new tax a kilo of gas imported to Sri Lanka will be charged a tax of Rs 13 from today, Director of the Tariff Facilitation and Appraisement department of the Customs Authority Tharaka Seneviratne said. (Daily Mirror online)
