Defeated Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama is aiming for a post in the government despite failing to secure a seat in parliament at the recent General Elections, government sources told Daily Mirror online

While the tussle for his former post continues among several key government members who made it into parliament, Bogollagama, according to government sources is keen to remain in politics by either vying for a deputy minister post or one of a lesser authority.

Meanwhile President Mahinda Rajapakse is expected to have meetings with his potential cabinet prior to their formal appointment next week, sources said.

Sources added that the President has unofficially decided on who he is going to select in his new cabinet but will refrain from divulging the names till an official announcement is made.

General Secretary of the SLFP, Maithripala Sirisena said that the President is expected to gazette the names of his new ministers on April 21 and the new cabinet will take oaths between April 22 and 23. (Daily Mirror online)
